T J Edge

T J Edge writes stories delving into realms of magic, monsters, and the wild, wondrous, and frequently dark possibilities just beyond our mundane world.

She acquired these dark sensibilities when she was young, from her father reading to her at night from a tattered old copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales, filling her head with images of princesses sneaking off to dance all night and witches fleeing with babies in their arms as coerced payment for stolen lettuces. And from her mother who, on Saturday mornings, would tune the TV to horror movies from the 1930s or 1940s introducing her to the monster classics: Frankenstein, Count Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Mummy.

In her thirteenth year, her family moved from the beaches and temperate weather of Southern California to the rain-soaked Pacific Northwest. Here she discovered new monsters, both real and imagined, lurking under the fluorescent lights of high school hallways and within the dense forests nestled in the shadow of Mt. Baker.

She's an AI skeptic, developer, and past project manager for an evil technocratic overlord who will remain unnamed. She holds a mathematics degree from Western Washington University and a graduate certificate in software engineering from Harvard University. These days she lives in a very ordinary neighborhood north of Atlanta and she's never outgrown her love of magic, mayhem, and monsters that hide in the dark.
